Currently, the Northern Alliance is fighting the Burma Army (BA) between the towns of Hsenwi and Kutkai along the Union highway from Muse to Mandalay in Kutkai Township.

According to a man from Mang Pyein, BA clashed with the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Force (MNDAA) near Loi Yoi mountain, which is close to his village. The source, who requested anonymity, heard heavy and small arms fire, but was not sure if there were any casualties from the violence.

A day later, on 29 November, BA also fought the MNDAA near Mongkoe and Hpoung Hseng, a second source said, adding that villages in the area were affected by shelling on a daily basis.

Fighting was also reported near Nam Har in Mongkoe sub township with BA and the MNDAA firing heavy weapons at each other.

According to Kokang Media, BA carried out three attacks on the MNDAA’s camp in Ching Chai Htang on 27 November.
