Two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Thai-Burma border town of Tachileik, located in eastern Shan State. Both of the patients are receiving medical treatment at Tachilek Public Hospital.

Chan Myae Saw, General Administration Department (GAD) officer for Tachileik Township, told SHAN they are construction workers, who were among 46 workers from Bago Region tested for the disorder. One was confirmed on November 22 and the second on November 25.

There were 325 transmissions detected in Shan State from March 30 to November 24, according to the health department. In eastern Shan State, there were 12, in the south 237 and 76 in the north.

The Ministry of Health and Sports reported 82,236 transmissions on November 24, while 60,965 recovered from the disease and 1,784 died.
