125 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Shan State

There are 125 COVID-19 transmissions that were detected in Shan State. A jump of 47 cases since October 26, when there were only 78 in the state.

Dr Thuza Chit Tin, the head of Shan State Public Health Department, told SHAN that 23 people are receiving medical treatment for their illness.

At Sao San Htun Hospital there are 7, at Kalaw Public Hospital there are 10 and there’s 6 who are staying at Aung Pan Hospital, Dr Zawana Ko said.

There were 11 confirmed cases in eastern Shan State. Out of these cases, one person died and two are receiving treatment, and they’re both at Mong Pyin Hospital.

In northern Shan State, there were 36 cases.

Of the 125 confirmed cases in Shan State, 96 were detected at the National Health Laboratory and 29 using rapid diagnostic testing.

Dr Myo Tun, minister of Social Affairs for Shan State, said 61 have recovered and 1 person died in Shan State.

The government’s Ministry of Health and Sports reported on October 26 there were 46,200 transmissions in the country, 1,122 deaths and 26,007 recoveries.
