A woman was shot and killed while she was in a private car in Namsang Township in southern Shan State.
Pol-Maj Min Aung, commander of Namsang police station, in Namsang Township, said the woman was shot this Thursday (July 23) at about 11 p.m.
Lin Aung Shwe, a parliamentarian for Namsang Township, said the shooting happened about six miles from the town of Namsang. The vehicle the woman was in was a white Mitsubishi.
“At the moment, we don’t know why this happened…A lot of people have different opinions about it.” he said.
Pol-Maj Min Aung also had very little information about the incident.
A murder investigation has been opened.
