Three Brotherhood Alliance Attacks SAC in Muse Township

Must read

Last Thursday, Three Brotherhood Alliance—comprising Arakan Army, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), and Ta’ang National Liberation Army—raided another State Administration Council (SAC) base in what is locally known as the 105-mile Trade Zone in Muse Township, northern Shan State. As usual, SAC quickly responded with airstrikes on the same day.

Residents reported feeling terrified witnessing the low-flying jet fighters. A woman from Muse town, which is close to the clash site, said, “We are afraid and worried about our safety, never knowing when a bomb will hit us.” Since the alliance launched its 1027 Operation about two months ago, at least five civilians and over ten people have been wounded in the trade zone.

In late November, MNDAA captured the Jin San Jiao (also called Kyin San Kyawt) border checkpoint close to 105-mile along the China border in Burma.

Over 50,000 people have been displaced in northern Shan State since the offensive operation began on October 27. The fighting and constant air bombardments by the regime have made travel between towns and even villages impossible, grounding the distribution of food and other essential items, including fuel, leading to hardships for locals. Volunteers assisting displaced populations in northern Shan State emphasize the urgent need for humanitarian aid, including warm clothing and medicine.
