.

There were 15 gang rape cases perpetrated by terrorist Military Council forces and up to 10 cases of rape committed by civilians. 3 cases of sexual harassment happened at Junta interrogation centre and 2 cases of harassment at their checkpoints.

BWU’s report also stated that 414 women were killed and 27,78 were arrested across the country, in the two years since the Military Council forcibly seized power from the civilian government.

The official also said that the list includes information disclosed by reliable media, and only accessible cases were listed. There could be many more cases that happened without any documentation, and not known to media.

Among the arrested women, the highest number were from Yangon with a total of 758 detainees, and the least from Karenni (Kayah) State with 9 arrested.

According to BWU’s documentation, 414 women died as a result of being hit by artillery and small arms, violent crackdowns on anti-coup protests, and torture in interrogation centres.

78 women were shot dead when the regime forces conducted operations in villages, 26 were killed by airstrikes, 53 were killed during arrests, and another 20 were shot in the head during protests.

The data in this report is mainly based on information from the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). Due to numerous limitations and challenges of information flows on the ground, there could be much higher numbers that had been limited to access, BWU said.
