Health officials reported six more cases of COVID-19 in northern Shan State. Five are in Lashio and one is in Hsipaw.

Dr Nyan Myint, the head of Lashio Public Hospital, told SHAN the results of the tests returned this Tuesday, November 17. In one case, a person is over 50 years of age, posing a greater health risk to the patient because of their age.

Three of the cases have a travel history. Five people are receiving medical care in Lashio. And the sixth person is at Hsipaw Public Hospital.

Since the election ended, Burma has been recording over 1,000 cases every day.

One November 18, a COVID-19 patient died of the disorder at the Lashio Public Hospital, according to Dr Nyan Myint.

In Burma, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported 74,882 cases on November 19, while 55,663 recovered and 1,676 died of the disease.
