Doctors caring for three COVID-19 patients in Kengtung, eastern Shan State say that their condition is getting better.

The patients—Burma’s 64th, 96th, and 112th—have had multiple rounds of testing.

“Case 64 tested negative in the third round of testing with the National Health Laboratory. Case 96 tested negative in the third round of testing,” Dr. Hla Htay Min, the head of Kengtung’s public hospital, told SHAN.

Case 112 remains positive for the virus, he added.

“They health of the three patients is good. We will test them again after 48 hours of being negative [for COVID-19],” Dr. Hla Htay Min said.

Burma’s health ministry has confirmed 155 cases of the coronavirus in the country, six deaths and 43 recoveries. Seven of the confirmed cases are in Shan State. Among them, two have already been discharged from hospitals, and five remain in treatment. Three people are being treated in Kengtung, one in Muse, and one in Taunggyi.
