Houses burglarized in Nam Khur village when villagers have fled

Houses have been burglarized in Nam Khur village in Namhsan township when villagers have fled their home during the clashes in Namhsan township in northern Shan state.

Local people said that their houses have been burglarized in Nam Khur village in Namhsan township when they have fled their home during the clashes between Burma army and TNLA on Sept 16 and 17.

“All our villagers had fled when clashes occurred. Then houses and shops were burglarized. They took beer cans and food stuffs from our shops. They also took rice and cooking oil from houses. They rummaged in our houses,” a local, who lives in Nam Khur village, told SHAN. 

Local people said that Burma army had stationed in Nam Khur village when they clashed with TNLA around Nam Khur village.

“I heard that 3 houses and 1 shop were burglarized in Nam Khur village. They rummaged in houses. I think villagers had lost at least 10 lakh Kyat worth of properties. I haven’t known which armed organization committed it,” U Thein Shwe, who is chairman of Chan Myae Social Volunteer team (Namhsan), told SHAN. 

Local people said that their houses and shops were burglarized and they had lost properties. 

A civilian had been killed and 3 other villagers wounded in the clashes between Burma army and TNLA in Namhsan township since Sept 13.
