The Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) handed over around 30 kilograms of the drug “ice” to police officials in Mongton, Shan State on Wednesday.

The transfer of methamphetamines took place in a ceremony at the Mongton police station from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and was attended by the district and township police commanders as well as Col Ting Khur and Lt-Col Sai Harn of the RCSS/SSA.

Col Ting Khur is a central committee member of the armed group and Lt-Col Sai Harn heads the anti-narcotics department.

“About 50 government officials from Mongton and Mong Hsat townships and other guests joined the ceremony,” an RCSS/SSA officer told SHAN.

The seized drugs were taken near Tar Mueng Moon river port on the Nam Khin creek in Mongton on April 26 after a clash between the RCSS/SSA and a gang of alleged drug traffickers.
