The National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA) has destroyed cyber scam equipment valued at over 1 million Chinese yuan (approximately 456 million Myanmar kyats) in Mongla, Eastern Shan State, as part of an ongoing crackdown on cross-border scam operations.
According to a statement released on November 4, the police force of Special Region (4), under NDAA control, used heavy machinery to crush and burn the equipment on October 31 at the waste burning site in Mongla town.
More than 10,000 seized items — including mobile phones, computers, routers, and other digital devices — were destroyed. The equipment had been confiscated during NDAA-led raids on cyber scam compounds operating within the region.
The NDAA stated that its security forces have established cooperation mechanisms with Chinese judicial authorities, enabling coordinated efforts to control cross-border cyber scam networks and dismantle related infrastructure.
In addition to equipment seizures, the NDAA has also cooperated on personnel transfers. On August 17, the group announced that the Tachileik Immigration Department handed over 71 Chinese nationals involved in cyber scam operations to Chinese authorities at the Ta Lot border checkpoint in Mongla, an area jointly controlled by the NDAA and the military council.
The NDAA emphasized that the crackdown will continue, with law enforcement agencies conducting regular inspections in Mongla to prevent the re-establishment of cyber scam activities.
