Due to the military informants providing information, six villagers from Pae Yin Thaung village were taken away and murdered on 17 April 2022 according to a resident.

“Six of them are the native of Pae Yin Thaung. They were on the run the other days, and they just came back on 17 April and got arrested. On 19 April, they were all killed in the field located east of the village. The photos of them were shared in a military telegram channel,” a Pae Yin Thaung resident told SHAN.

The six villagers who got killed are U Thin Pe, Ko Hla Soe, Ko Tun Oo, Mg Thet Aung, Ko Myo Htwe, and Ko Win Naing. Their corpses were burned by the military junta soldiers.

On 22 April 2022, Ywarngan PDF released a statement mentioning the military junta soldiers are accusing the innocent plain civilians as PDF so that they could kill anyone. The same applied to the six Pae Yin Thaung villagers.

One of the military junta telegram channels released a propaganda by spreading the news and photos of the six villagers killed – 6 PDF corpses and 2 handmade guns, 4 hand grenade, and one binocular were confiscated.

Because of the military brutality in Ywarngan township, around 400 people are on the run, and urgent supports are needed for the internally displaced people and local people defense force.
