Two males, who were doing a fourteen-day quarantine in Burma’s Shan State, ran away from the government facility they were staying at.

The men recently returned from Thailand via the Mae Sot and Myawaddy border crossing. Afterwards, they were sent to Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State, where they were tested for COVID-19. When their results returned negative, the men were sent to the Loilem Township facility from which they escaped.
Sai Soe, who is a volunteer, says men still need to complete their second round of testing. Authorities are looking for them.
One, from a village in Loilem Township, escaped on July 5. Another from Panglong Township ran away the following day.
According to the Shan State government, 2,087 workers returned to the state via the Mae Sot and Myawaddy Friendship Bridge in Karen State.
Burma’s Ministry of Health and Sports reported 321 confirmed cases on July 10, while there have been 6 deaths and 254 recoveries in the country.
