Junta troops raided cyber-scam operation sites in the Taung Htike Village Tract of Kyaukme Township, arresting 28 Chinese nationals and confiscating equipment used for online fraud, according to an official statement released yesterday.
On November 30 and December 1, military forces raided cyber-scam compounds built in a forested area near the Dokhtawaddy River in Taung Htike. The troops seized 28 Chinese nationals, along with materials and temporary buildings used in the operation.
A woman from Kyaukme confirmed to SHAN that drones were used ahead of the raid.
“The military first used drones to survey the scam site. Some scammers who noticed the drones fled by car toward Talong. The arrests were made at a scam site built with huts in the forest near Ohn Nway, inside Taung Htike tract,” she said.

According to the junta’s statement, the seized items included dormitories, food-storage rooms, toilets, guard towers, generators, computers, a Starlink dish, air conditioners, money-counting machines, and other computer accessories used in scam operations.
The raid came shortly after heavy clashes were reported in the area. On the afternoon of November 29, the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) stated that junta troops launched a ground offensive and entered the vicinity of an SSPP/SSA camp in a forested area of Pon Wo Village Tract in Kyaukme Township, triggering intense fighting.
Earlier, from November 24 to 26, junta troops raided cyber-scam compounds near Naung Tauk, Kawng Hing, and Wam Kyaung villages close to Mong Nawng Town in Keysi (Keythi) Township. On November 28, the junta announced that a total of 34 individuals — 26 Chinese nationals and 8 Myanmar nationals — were arrested, along with equipment and ammunition.
