The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) reiterated its commitment to addressing political challenges solely through meetings and discussions.

This commitment was deliberated upon and reaffirmed during the annual conference, which took place from January 26th to 28th at Loi Tai Leng, the headquarters of the RCSS.

During the conference, the annual process reports from various departments were scrutinized, discussions were held on the current political landscape, and strategic decisions were made for the RCSS to align with the prevailing military, peace, and other contextual developments.

Furthermore, in response to Myanmar’s political crisis, the RCSS will persist in its endeavors to address the situation by engaging in dialogue and coordination with relevant stakeholder organizations, its statement said.

RCSS conveyed its stance that the resolution of Myanmar’s issues hinges on the establishment of a federal democratic union, and it called upon the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to play a role in addressing Myanmar’s political dilemmas.

RCSS’s statement also outlines its future plans, encompassing endeavors to sustain long-term national unity in Shan State and combat illicit activities such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and telecom scams (Zhapian) within RCSS-controlled areas.
