Clashes broke out between the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and sit-tat (Burma army) in Hsenwi Township in eastern Shan State on Sunday.

.

“The Burma army seized a RPG and military equipment from the MNDAA near the bridge,” said a local from Hsenwi town who requested anonymity. She said the first clash occurred at 9am and the second at around 2am.

Earlier, the MNDAA and the People’s Defence Force installed a IED near the bridge, where a regime checkpoint is located. The blast damaged nearby houses but did not cause any casualties, another anonymous source said.

“People were able to travel across the bridge today as usual,” the man said.

MNDAA troops also attacked a police station in downtown Lashio at around 3am on 5 June.
