Good neighborliness could only do so much so as not to pour oil into the problems and push parties into an open conflict that would have international dimension.

ARSA containment could be possible through good relationship between the two countries, but sympathy from the ethnically related Bangladeshi for the ARSA would be more hard to contain, regardless of whether they are radical Islamist groups or just normal sympathizers from the population, as ethnic conflict elsewhere have shown to enjoy such support in such situation from across the contagious border.

But regarding the resettlement of the Rohingya refugees, a compromise could be worked out between the two countries, if there would be a far-reaching vision leading to agreement on humanitarian aspects, pragmatic approaches and political will from both sides of the border.

Otherwise, both countries would go on muddling through as it is now, each with its own agendas, that are contradictory and incomparable to each other.
